Having been asked all to often "So what exactly do you do for money?" I am going to give you all a history lesson of my dealings with the filthy lucre of life. Let's take this back to 1989 when I produced and ran the Circus of the Perverse for Joey Ramone, this was an evening of over 30 bands and acts that included (at my insistence) a black mass procession of scantily clad women at midnight. The event was mc-ed by Lemmy from Motorhead.
I went to work as art director of Rockshots greeting cards, (you know the ones with the fat ladies and naked men), in those 3 years I produced over 450 cards, then worked with John Waters and Jean Hill. I acquired the black leather bondage dress Edith Massey wore in Female trouble — from there and it still hangs proudly in my closet.
Next I started a line of t-shirts that sold to various boutiques around the world— then I met up with and partnered with Axel (the heavy metal jeweler), from their I met Axel Rose and I created a few pieces for him. Later on after some freelance special effects work that got me into horror conventions, I started doing resin model kits, these kits were a ground breaking gold mine! I did Vincent Price and a lot of Clive Barker and that is how I met and started working with Clive. Next I did a licensed Frank-n-Furter Rocky Horror model kit as well as a ton of Hellraiser kits that went on to become toy prototypes, all while I started Netherworld.
My gothic mail order business catalog came into being in early 1991, I founded the Vampire Society and sold a Vampires Ankh —like the one in the Hunger with a working surgical blade —, I sold over 1,000 of these items for over $125.00 (the 90's were great!!). The catalog featured all things gothic and Satanic, including the Satanic Bible and Rituals, including the Anton Lavey portrait ring; the original was sent to Dr. Lavey and was worn proudly by him; thus my indoctrination into the actual COS (Church of Satan). At that time I was producing props and other stage items for The Bloodsuckers from Outer Space and the Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black and working a few parties at underground sex clubs.Next I began co-writing a comic book called Lovely Prudence a vicious little ditty about a skull faced she-brat that featured stories about John Wayne Gacy and A Little House on the Prairie. We made fun of blind people and had the comic torn off shelves but it was fun, sick and all sorts of good things. So ended the 90's… Around this time I started getting my Satanic jewelry into mainstream stores like Hot Topic. I also started working with Paul Booth and creating hideously perverted designs for him. We built a tent city for a rock tour and created the most over the top cast resin trophies for the tattoo convention
Unbeknownst to kids across America I have produced master prototypes to over 300 toys in their happy meals. I have seen almost every modern Star Trek toy off to mold heaven and have sculpted for Art Asylum as well. Additionaly I have made stage props for the last 3 Jager tours with Slayer. Also, I have art directed and photographed 2 of Voltaire's CD covers and have done photo shoots with Biohazard, Slayer, and Paul Booth; as well as the Toilet Boys and countless porno magazines.
I proudly designed and built the dungeons at Sin Studios and created an environment so over the top that I was paid the highest of compliments by a patron who fled the room even before he could have 50 needles shoved in his dick because as he put it "This is too 'fuckin' scary for me". I also built the Underground Lounge in a nightclub in upstate NY and hosted the Skin Show tattoo parties there.
Now I produce custom car parts for hot rods, shift knobs tail lights head light covers and other chrome doo-dadds; I work online as a psychic reader and have done very well with that. All in all I do whatever I find amusing.
I owned a very cool store in a shitty little town just to make them all have something to worry about, it was called Something Wicked, a morbid curiosity shop. It was stocked with mounted insects, gargoyles, fetish wear and Satanic Ritual items. They thought I was going to open up a fussy little gallery and oh boy were they disappointed.
Among other more recent projects was Outrage Cards a post modern card line. Punk Rock Perverts my take on pornography. Thug Knuckle my custom brass knuckle company— and now my new baby… Satanic Mechanix, my take on the Hot rod world, a car club for cads villains juvenile delinquents and sweater girls with switchblades. A twisted joint venture with Sara Rung (FeMaledictions) Johnny Crap and others to be named later— now working with Mistress Juliya from Fuse and other metal strongholds… and mostly because this is how I label myself I am an inventor.
I have authored and co-authored 7 patents over the years from a 3-D View Master greeting card to my newest top secret but sold to a Fortune 50 company, I take a concept make it real and bring it to the public. So look around and when you see a Baphomet pendent or a Last Rites necklace that's me… when you are eating at Burger king and see some toy display that's me. As far as name dropping here it goes: Anton Lavey, Vincent Price ( the piece I did for him is on display in his museum in East Los Angeles) Clive Barker, Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, Paul Booth, Forrest J. Ackerman, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Kerry King (Slayer), William S. Burroughs (custom brass knuckles) H.R. Giger, Chris Stein, Debbie Harry, Peter Gilmore, Peggy Nadramia, just to name a few… so there it is maybe this clears it up a bit or maybe it makes it more confusing… for more info checkout one of my ten websites.
